Q. There are other resources that can give me tips at little or no cost. Why should I pay you for every set of tips that I receive?
A. Because most other resources are poorly organized and/or poorly detailed, it can be hard to find the information you’re looking for. Additionally, many other resources are severely outdated, rendering them nearly useless. Our weekly emails are also very useful because we select topics and tips that will be beneficial based on the time of year. Other resources also require you to spend precious time searching for the information you are looking for, while our searchable archive allows for easy access to topics of all sorts. Q. Your website says your emails are weekly. What day of the week do they get sent out on? What if that day is a holiday?
A. We send our emails at 3:00 PM CDT (___ UTC) on Sunday afternoons, so that your team can utilize the tips throughout the following week. If a holiday lands on a Sunday, we will still send our weekly email regardless.
Q. What kinds of tips will I be receiving? Is this just advice on how to make a great robot?
A. Unlike some resources, we believe in both the robot and non-robot components of the FTC experience. Because of this, we will be providing tips about outreach, STEM connections, and documentation in addition to tips about designing, building, and programming your robot.
